Since inception, home built by CornerStone Homes have consistently been rated in the Top 10 percentile of home builders across the country.
Under the leadership of industry veteran Mark Downing, CornerStone Homes has become one of Northeast Florida’s premier home builders. Mark started CornerStone Homes in 2002 after twenty years with Holmes Lumber and Builder’s First Source and has served as the past president of the Northeast Florida Builders Association.
Building homes for people is Mark Downing’s passion and he surrounds himself with others equally as passionate.
Mark has lived most of his life in Jacksonville and is a graduate of Terry Parker High School and the University of North Florida. Hard work and ability are important to him, but so are integrity and a healthy work-life balance. Mark’s most precious times are spent with his wife Becky, their three children, Josh, Danielle and Caleb, and their five grandchildren.
It’s not enough to have a great philosophy and great leadership; you need a great team to make a plan a reality. We can teach someone to swing a hammer or draw a set of plans, but it’s a lot harder to teach good character. That’s what it’s all about for us – character. We treat people the way we want to be treated, and we build homes as if it were our own family living in them.
That kind of commitment to our customers has yielded seven consecutive Grand Laurel Golden Service Awards, the highest honor in recognition of outstanding customer care, from the Northeast Florida Builders’ Association.
